An interesting approach to the hosting of the tournament deserves a special approach. Beyond the Summit is famous for its events to be hosted in an informal and fun atmosphere, which cannot but please viewers and players.

The analysis of the teams

The majority of teams is equal in power at this championship, so only NRG eSports can be noticed as a favorite and Ghost Gamins can be mentioned as an underdog.

BIG (a place in the rate by HLTV — #9)

BIG completed its roster on April 21 and haven’t made changes to it since then. The team can’t be said to be in a stable gaming shape as it has been making a draw for the last eight bo2 matches. However, it can be said for sure that BIG are ready for the match against G2 Esports, with which they played a week and a half ago. At the last LAN final, in which BIG took part, StarSeries Season 6, the team placed 5th-8th and earned a money prize in the sum of $10,000. This result can’t be called a good one and due to that, despite a high level of the team, we are not sure about the strength of the German team.

The roster of BIG and the players’ rate:

Fatih “gob b” Dayik — 1.00Johannes “tabseN” Wodarz — 1.25Johannes “nex” Maget — 1.00Tizian “tiziaN” Feldbusch — 1.11Owen “smooya” Butterfield — 1.14Nikola “LEGIJA” Ninic — a coach

compLexity Gaming (a place in the rate by HLTV — #13)

After stanislaw had joined the North American CS:GO roster, the team hasn’t made changes for more than 8 months. At the moment, the team is in a good gaming shape, which is reflected by its results in the leagues ECS Season 6 and ESL Pro League 8. compLexity Gaming hasn’t seen a victory at any LAN tournaments and this event might become the first LAN event for the Americans where they will achieve a victory. Will this team be able to perform well? It’s difficult enough to answer this question now as the online performance and the LAN performance are a different kind of things. MSI Gaming Arena 2018 was the last event, in which compLexity took part. There, the Americans held the second place, which is good in general and they placed 5th-8th at the last Major tournament, which can be called a good result too. compLexity have an experience of playing at LAN finals, so they might have an advantage at this championship. coL will face OpTic in the first match and this match will have to be equal.

The roster of compLexity Gaming and the players’ rate:

Rory “dephh” Jackson — 1.08Brad “ANDROID” Fodor — 1.10Jaccob “yay” Whiteaker — 1.09Peter “stanislaw” Jarguz — 1.09Shahzeeb “ShahZaM” Khan — 1.13Ronald “Rambo” Kim — a coach

G2 Esports (a place in the rate by HLTV — #17)

G2 Esports haven’t been able to win a title of the champion for more than a year and the team can’t place higher than 5th-6th at all tournaments, in which the French participate. In June, G2 decided to make changes to its roster one more time and as a result, NBK- and apEX left the main roster and Ex6TenZ joined the team. Recently, NBK- and apEX have moved to the ranks of Team Vitality and G2 has continued its way to the success with the current roster. G2 have played bo2 matches in the recent matches of the leagues ECS #6 and EPL 8, finishing with a draw usually. This reflects that the team is ready to compete with all tier-2 opponents. It’s worth to notice that they have faced the representatives of the elite division in the face of Astralis, Natus Vincere, and FaZe in the recent matches.

The roster of G2 Esports and the players’ rate:

Richard “shox” Papillon — 1.04Alexandre “bodyy” Pianaro — 0.95Kenny “kennyS” Schrub — 1.03Edouard “SmithZz” Dubourdeaux — 0.79Kevin “Ex6TenZ” Droolans — 0.91Jerome “NiaK” Sudries — a coach

Ghost Gaming (a place in the rate by HLTV — #25)

Ghost Gaming has the lowest rate among all participants of cs_summit 3. The 3rd-4th place ZOTAC Cup Masters 2018 was the team’s last good result where they earned a money prize in the sum of $20,000 for their efforts. It’s worth to notice that the team was playing with a stand-in, kRYSTAL, then. After ZOTAC, the team took part in DreamHack Masters Stockholm 2018 where placed 9th-12th. The team’s recent results look good but their opponents were too weak, compared to the participants of cs_summit. In the first match, Ghost Gaming will face NRG eSports, which are in a good gaming shape. Ghost Gaming is the only team, which can be called an underdog, in our opinion.

The roster of Ghost Gaming and the players’ rate:

Matthew “Wardell” Yu — 1.19Yassine “Subroza” Taoufik — 1.06Joshua “steel” Nissan — 1.11Kenneth “koosta” Suen — 1.13Jason “neptune” Tran — 1.01James “JamezIRL” Macaulay — a coach

Heroic (a place in the rate by HLTV — #20)

Heroic is one of the most famous teams in Denmark. Due to their achievements, the team managed to make it to the top twenty CS:GO rosters in the world. The Danes’ current gaming shape leaves much more to be desired. In many recent matches, Heroic has lost and they have managed to make a draw in a very few cases. It’s worth to notice that they have played against Astralis, mousesports, Natus Vincere, and BIG, which are famous and strong teams but the first opponent of Heroic, Team Kinguin will not give a break to its Danish opponents. The team’s success or failure depends, first of all, on the level of their preparation for the tournament and a moral state for the upcoming matches. If this team is related to the category of favorites or underdogs of cs_summit 3, Heroic will probably be an underdog of the championship than its favorite.

The roster of Heroic and the players’ rate:

Andreas “MODDII” Fridh — 0.99Patrick “es3tag” Hansen — 1.09Adam “friberg” Friberg — 0.94Asger “AcilioN” Larsen — 0.90Daniel “mertz” Mertz — 1.07Niko “naSu” Kovanen — a coach

Team Kinguin (a place in the rate by HLTV — #19)

According to the many viewers’ opinion, Kinguin is the strongest team in Poland and Kinguin places the highest among the Polish teams in the rate by HLTV. Before the last match against Tricked eSports, TaZ and his team had had a series of nine victories. Opponents were teams of not such a level as the participants of cs_summit 3 but we are almost sure that the Polish five will have to pass through the first opponent in the face of Heroic. If they can’t do that, Kinguin will be able to redeem themselves in the lower bracket and will probably reach the top four. On October 12, the last tournament was finished, in which the Poles took part. There, the players have held the first place, having achieved victory in the final against PACT and earned a money prize in the sum of $12,120.

The roster of Team Kinguin and the players’ rate:

Mikolaj “mouz” Karolewski — 1.09Karol “rallen” Rodowicz — 1.17Wiktor “TaZ” Wojtas — 1.02Pawel “reatz” Janczak — 1.06Jacek “MINISE” Jeziak — 1.12Mariusz “Loord” Cybulski — a coach

NRG eSports (a place in the rate by HLTV — #7)

NRG eSports is one of the very few obvious favorites to win the championship and the team with the highest rate among all participants too. nahtE joined the team on January 15 and the roster hasn’t been changed since then and the team has managed to achieve good results together with Ethan Arnold. NRG placed 3rd-4th at the recently finished StarSeries Season 6 and earned a money prize in the sum of $25,000. All participants of cs_summit 3 are weaker than NRG eSports, so we consider this team to one of the very few favorites to win. However, everything might happen at this tournament and players might morally relax due to the informal atmosphere. In the first match, NRG will face the only outsider, Ghost Gaming. Due to that, NRG will have to enter the top four at least and advance to the final in the best case.

The roster of NRG eSports and the players’ rate:

Jacob “FugLy” Medina — 1.02Damian “daps” Steele — 0.94Vincent “Brehze” Cayonte — 1.21Cvetelin “CeRq” Dimitrov — 1.14Ethan “nahtE” Arnold — 1.18Chet “ImAPet” Singh — a coach

OpTic Gaming (a place in the rate by HLTV — #16)

Like Heroic, OpTic Gaming is one of the most famous teams in Denmark. Now, they are in a good gaming shape and this team didn’t know how to lose this week. Playing against x6tence Galaxy, SuperJymy, Endpoint, Tricked eSport, Red Reserve, and Against All Authority, OpTic achieved confident victories. If you have a look at the roster’s achievements more global, there are good results. OpTic Gaming have held the 3rd-4th place at StarSeries Season 6, having lost to the champion of the tournament in the semi-final. There, they earned a money prize in the sum of $25,000. The team placed second at the last tournament, in which OpTic participated. This result could be called a good one but the organizers gave an invite to IEM XIII — Chicago for the first place and didn’t give for the second place. In the first round, OpTic will play against an equal opponent, compLexity Gaming. This means that the success of one or another team in the first match will depend on a preparation for the tournament and a moral state for the match.

The roster of OpTic Gaming and the players’ rate:

Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke — 1.11Rene “cajunb” Borg — 1.08Marco “Snappi” Pfeiffer — 1.00Jakob “JUGi” Hansen — 1.05Nikolaj “niko” Kristensen — 1.02Casper “ruggah” Due — a coach
