This summer, Ratchet & Clank will finally make their debut on PC after two decades
The Ratchet & Clank game series recently marked its 20th anniversary, and it's surprising that none of the games were released on PC throughout that entire period. However, following the trend of many PlayStation games, except for Bloodborne, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is coming to PC on July 26th.
Nixxes Software, in collaboration with the original developer Insomniac Games (who might currently be occupied with Spider-Man 2), is responsible for porting the game. In a blog post announcing the PC release, a representative from Nixxes named Julian Haverkort states that the game is a "visual masterpiece, perfect for newcomers." And indeed, Ratchet & Clank games have always been a prominent part of PlayStation, and Sony tends to release new PlayStation models alongside the launch of a new game in this series, showcasing something special for early buyers. Regarding this installment, our partner platform GamesRadar+ named it the "best in the series" and awarded it five stars.

The PC version doesn't fall behind in terms of performance, or at least we hope so, considering the previous disappointing PlayStation-to-PC port by Sony. The game will feature ray tracing with different levels of reflection quality, along with added ray-traced shadows for natural lighting in open areas.
The game will additionally offer support for an ultrawide mode designed for triple monitor configurations, allowing for gameplay at resolutions of 21:9, 32:9, and 48:9. Both the gameplay and video clips have been specifically optimized to enhance the experience in this mode.
Finally, "the game supports unlocked framerates and includes the latest performance-enhancing upscaling technologies. You'll be able to choose from NVIDIA DLSS 3, AMD FSR 2, Intel XeSS, and Insomniac Games' Temporal Injection. NVIDIA Reflex and image quality enhancing NVIDIA DLAA are also supported."
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart comes with mouse and keyboard support, fully customizable, and, of course, various controllers, but especially the DualSense, which, when connected via wire, will give you a sense of tactile interaction.
There are also a few bonus treats for us: the game includes five armors from the Digital Deluxe Edition, as well as a 20th Anniversary Armor Pack and another five armors inspired by previous games in the series.
