Spawn Unleashes Chaos in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2's Epic Season 6 Crossover
The upcoming sixth season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is set to bring an unexpected crossover with the beloved comic book anti-hero, Spawn. As the current fifth season of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 draws to a close, fans have already enjoyed the addition of high-profile figures like Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj, 21 Savage and the gaming icon Lara Croft, who have all joined the game as playable operators.
It's becoming a common trend for each new Call of Duty season to incorporate crossovers with various properties or celebrities. This trend gained momentum in 2020 with Black Ops Cold War, which introduced a cast of '80s action heroes such as Rambo, John McClane and Judge Dredd into the game's universe. Call of Duty: Vanguard followed suit with its own roster of collaborations, including appearances from Godzilla and Terminator. This year, Modern Warfare 2 has taken this crossover concept to new heights, introducing characters like Shredder from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Homelander,Starlight and Black Noir from The Boys, as well as Tomb Raider's iconic Lara Croft, among others.

As Season 6 of Modern Warfare 2 approaches, it appears that another exciting crossover is on the horizon. A leaked piece of key art on Twitter, shared by CharlieIntel, hints at the inclusion of Image Comics' popular anti-hero, Spawn. Spawn's most recent appearance in a major video game was as a DLC character in 2019's Mortal Kombat 11, where he seamlessly blended into that universe. However, Spawn's inclusion in Call of Duty seems somewhat unconventional.
Since Call of Duty typically offers playable operators as part of bundles for purchase, Spawn enthusiasts are likely eager to discover what unique weapon blueprints and bundled items will accompany the character. Anticipate an array of items infused with green smoke effects, and possibly some edgy spikes and chains. The voice actor chosen for this iconic anti-hero will also be of great interest, with Keith David, the original voice actor from Spawn's late '90s TV show who returned to voice the character in Mortal Kombat 11, being a strong contender.
Season 6 is slated to be the final season for Modern Warfare 2 before the release of Modern Warfare 3 in November. Consequently, Spawn is expected to be the last crossover character in Call of Duty for a while. Historically, the franchise tends to initiate collaborations in the first or second season of its newly launched titles the following year. Expect more details about Spawn's arrival in Modern Warfare 2 as Call of Duty unveils Season 6 in the upcoming weeks.
