"The Mageseeker" fans appreciated the game for not being "League of Legends
Last week, "The Mageseeker: A League of Legends Story" game was released and fans of Riot's popular game highly appreciated it because it allows players to play as a League of Legends champion without participating in the multiplayer game.
Since its launch on Tuesday, April 18th, "The Mageseeker" has received "very positive" reviews from players on Steam, and SteamDB noted that the spin-off featuring League of Legends champion Sylas was trending on the platform for several days.

While players' reviews highlighted many strengths of the game, many fans praised it for its main feature: it is not League of Legends.
While "The Mageseeker" is purely a single-player game, League of Legends is a highly competitive multiplayer game, and like many games in this genre, it can sometimes be frustrating to play.
"One of the big problems with League of Legends is that you have to play with League of Legends players," one review said. "This game is great because so far I have not interacted with League of Legends players in any way."
"As the main player for Sylas, this game allows me to play as him without playing League of Legends, and that's already pretty amazing," added another, and hundreds of readers marked this review as "helpful."
"It's more fun than playing as Sylas in League, and there's no Yasuo dying for no reason here. Good game," shared this positive review, while another noted, "This is not League of Legends, and here you can pet a dog at the rebel camp. A 10/10 game just for that."
In addition, The Mageseeker has received over 500 positive reviews mentioning various aspects of the game - from how well it fits into the League universe and lore to the ability to pet a virtual dog within the game. All reviews can be read here.
The Mageseeker is the latest game in the Riot Forge series, but not the last within the League Of Legends Story project. Several games are planned to be released that will focus on League characters, including Ekko, Nunu, and Willump.
