Cross-play support will be introduced to Mortal Kombat 1 in February
Community manager Tyler Lansdown mentioned this week, "Cross-play is coming in February between PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, so we’re very excited about that."
Upon its initial announcement in May, NetherRealm had confirmed plans to incorporate cross-play support into Mortal Kombat 1 through a post-launch update.
Recently launched is Mortal Kombat 1 Season 3: The Cryomancer, themed around Sub-Zero's arrival as the primary boss in the Invasions mode.
Among the new features is a wi-fi filter, allowing players to accept or decline matches based on their opponent's internet connection quality.
Additionally, Mortal Kombat 1 is set to receive story DLC in the future, as hinted by its director. Series co-creator Ed Boon revealed during a panel at the CCXP23 event in Brazil, "Just like we did with Mortal Kombat 11, we’re going to release a second part with more story. And we have a big surprise after that, so we’re going to be supporting the game for even longer than we did with Mortal Kombat 11. It’s going to be fun."
