The head of Microsoft announced their intention to "strengthen their presence" in the field of game development and publishing
In the MSN interview, the discussion revolves around the acquisition, with Nadella being asked about the significance of this move, especially considering the substantial deal worth $65 billion.
"Yes, that's true, but it holds great importance for us," replied Nadella, explaining that gaming has always been one of Microsoft's three core components since the company's inception.

"We have a few fundamental aspects that have been with us from the very beginning," he elaborated. "Gaming is one of them, isn't it? When I think of Microsoft, I associate it, perhaps, with development tools, closed software, and games. These are the three areas where we've been operating right from the start.
"So, for us, gaming is an area where we believe we can genuinely make a mark in the consumer market."
Nadella explained that with each new generation, gaming becomes increasingly popular, and the acquisition of Activision Blizzard positions Microsoft more robustly to meet the growing demand.
"If you look at it, the amount of time people devote to gaming is on the rise, and Generation Z will be even more engaged in this," he noted.
"The ways of creating games and delivering them are undergoing radical changes, whether it's on mobile devices, consoles, PCs, or even through cloud technologies.
"So, we eagerly anticipate strengthening our position as a game developer and publisher. We are now poised to become one of the largest game publishers and platform developers."
With the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Microsoft has become the second-largest game publisher in terms of revenue, second only to the Chinese company Tencent.
