Black Ops 6 is set to make a major impact in the gaming industry as 2024 comes to a close. Developed by Treyarch, this marks the first Call of Duty title from the studio since 2020's Cold War. The game promises an action-packed experience with a revamped multiplayer mode, a new campaign storyline, and the next evolution of Call of Duty Zombies. Players who participated in the beta earlier this year were impressed by what the game has to offer, and fans can expect the return of beloved features such as the traditional round-based Zombies mode. Additionally, Treyarch has shared insight into how the game’s Prestige system will work.
The Prestige system in Black Ops 6 will be more traditional, with all levels available at launch, allowing players to reach max Prestige right from the start. To begin the Prestige journey, players must reach level 55 before entering Prestige, which resets the player to level 1 and re-locks previously unlocked items, except for those that are permanently unlocked. Upon reaching Prestige 1, players will be rewarded with the Prestige 1 icon, the “Nacht Raider” Weaver operator skin, and access to multiplayer and Zombies calling card challenges, as well as one permanent unlock.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Prestige 1 Rewards:
- Prestige 1 Icon
- "Nacht Raider" Weaver Operator Skin
- Prestige 1 Multiplayer and Zombies Calling Card Challenge Sets
- One Permanent Unlock
The traditional Prestige format was altered with 2019’s Modern Warfare to accommodate the live-service model, where new seasons introduced higher level caps. While this approach offered ongoing content, it was met with mixed reactions from the community. Treyarch’s decision to return to a more classic Prestige system in Black Ops 6 aims to address this feedback and deliver a more rewarding progression system.
Treyarch has promised that Black Ops 6 will be the “most rewarding Call of Duty” yet. Alongside the return of the Prestige system, features like theater mode are also making a comeback. Additionally, players can look forward to an all-new campaign mode and the next chapter in Call of Duty Zombies. At launch, the game will feature two new round-based Zombies maps, Terminus and Liberty Falls, each offering unique environments for players to explore.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is set to officially release on October 25, 2024.
