There are claims suggesting that Sony might introduce the PS5 Pro in 2024, featuring their proprietary DLSS solution
Gaming journalist Jeff Grubb from Giant Bomb shared insights indicating the existence of a mid-generation upgrade for the PS5 by Sony.
Grubb mentioned, "That PS5 Pro leak appears highly plausible based on the information I've gathered, and I'm not alone in this assessment. I can confidently add my confirmation to the growing support for this leak."

As per Grubb's suggestion, the system is likely to hit the shelves around September 2024. He highlighted that the current specifications are somewhat variable since they haven't been completely finalized yet.
He explained, "The notable feature expected from this system is Sony's unique DLSS-like solution, utilizing their machine learning technology to enhance visuals, enabling high-resolution and high-frame-rate performance. The PS5 Pro is projected to integrate specific hardware to facilitate this capability, offering more than just improved ray tracing capabilities with approximately 2x hardware ray tracing acceleration."
DLSS, known as deep learning super sampling, is a technology currently exclusive to Nvidia graphics cards. On PCs, it leverages AI to upscale game resolutions, allowing for better graphical quality and smoother frame rates even on less powerful hardware.
Earlier legal documents from Microsoft suggested expectations of Sony introducing PS5 Slim and Pro consoles soon. The PS5 Slim was launched in November.
Sony's target is to ship 25 million PS5 consoles by the end of its current fiscal year in March 2024. If accomplished, this would surpass a 25-year-old sales record set when the original PlayStation shipped 22.6 million units over a 12-month period.
